- Slope - Rate of change - Speed - When talking about speed, why are we interested in instantaneous speed and not just talk about how far can we get in an hour? What is the conceptual problem here? How does that relate to what a car speedometer show? For example, if you are riding a car at 80 km/h and there is a building in 100 in front of you, what does that measurement tell you? Obviously you won't be able to drive 80 km/h because you'd crash into the wall before you get a chance to do that.
